Jonas Grenier was born in 1977 and obtained his baccalauréat school leaving certificate and his violinist certificate in Strasbourg, his native town.. He then decided to continue his training at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève. In 2001 he obtained his teaching diploma in Margarita Karafilova’s class and polished his skills under Stefan Mulmenthaler in Neuchâtel. He obtained his concert diploma with distinction.
He then sought a musical opening, becoming in 2006 a permanent member of the Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain de La Chaux-de-Fonds, an ensemble that allowed him to progress in the field of creation. In the same year he became a permanent member of the Orchestre de Chambre de Neuchâtel and could thus open up to the symphonic repertoire. A passionate lover of chamber music, he became a member of Memo Quartet and Carpe Dièse Trio at end 2006. These two ensembles gave him the possibility of developing a form of musical expression that he considered to be the most enriching. Convinced that music must be lived but also transmitted to new generations, he currently teaches violin at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève.
